York U disaster management experts available for comment on the Philippines typhoon aftermath

TORONTO, Nov. 13, 2013 – York University experts in various areas of disaster management, including resiliency, response and reconstruction, are available to speak to the recent Philippines typhoon calamity.

Ali Asgary, associate professor of the Emergency Management Program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies

Jennifer Hyndman, professor in the departments of Social Science and Geography, and director of research in the Centre for Refugee Studies.

Tanya Gulliver, PhD candidate and a faculty member in the Faculty of Environmental Studies

Philip Kelly, professor in the department of Geography, and director of York Centre for Asian Research, who studies Filipino migration, is available for comment on how the expatriate community can support their native country to rebuild its economy.
