York University experts ready to comment on G20/G8 Summits

TORONTO, June 11, 2010 --  York University experts are available to discuss issues surrounding the G8 and G20 summits.


Economic concerns

 

Bernie Wolf, professor of economics and international business, Schulich School of Business, (416) 736-2100 ext. 77933, bwolf@yorku.ca.  His areas of research include international trade and finance, multinational enterprises, and the causes and consequences of strategic alliances.


Robert Latham, director of the York Centre for International and Security Studies (YCISS) and associate professor of political science, (416) 736-2100 ext. 46011,
rlatham1@yorku.ca.  His areas of research include global economic crisis and reform. 

 

 

Environmental issues

Mark Winfield, assistant professor of environmental studies, (416)736-2100 ext. 21078, marksw@yorku.ca.  His areas of research include sustainable energy, environmental policy and climate change policy.


G20 Protests

Lesley Wood, assistant professor and Associate Chair, Department of Sociology, (416)736-2100 ext. 77988, ljwood@yorku.ca.  Her areas of research include the tactics and organization of social movements, with a focus on summit protests and the changing nature of the policing of protests.
