TORONTO, March 10, 2015 - York University is pleased that members of CUPE3903 Unit 2 (contract faculty) have ratified the University’s settlement offer at their vote this evening. At the same time, the University is disappointed that members of CUPE 3903 Unit 1 (teaching assistants) and Unit 3 (graduate assistants) did not ratify the University’s settlement offers.
With this outcome, in which contract faculty are no longer on strike, the University is reviewing plans to allow as many students as possible to return to their studies in order to complete their terms. For Tuesday, March 10, classes previously suspended remain so.
We will be in contact with the mediator to discuss next steps in negotiations with Units 1 and 3.
