September 12, 2014 -- Mamdouh Shoukri, President and Vice-Chancellor, York University, paid tribute to colleagues and collaborators as he was invested into the Order of Canada by Governor General David Johnston today at Rideau Hall, in Ottawa.

“This distinction is exceptionally meaningful to me as someone who came to Canada 42 years ago to pursue my personal and professional aspirations. Canada has provided me with abundant opportunities. Being invested as a Member of the Order of Canada recognizes the achievements of my colleagues and students, and I am deeply grateful and honoured.”
