TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2013 – Professor Thomas Klassen of York University’s Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy and Administration, is available to comment on proposed reforms of the Canada Pension Plan. Following yesterday’s federal-provincial meeting on CPP reform and Ontario’s avowal to move ahead with its own mandatory retirement pension, Canadians continue to face the pressing issue of saving for retirement.
Professor Klassen, the author of Retirement in Canada (Oxford University Press), is a leading expert on retirement and income security for Canadians. Over the past decade, he has advised governments on retirement policy, served as an expert witness on legal cases dealing with retirement, and lectured widely on the topic.
