TORONTO - Toronto Police Service are continuing to investigate the discharge of a firearm at the front door of a tenth floor unit at 360 Assiniboine Rd. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, resulting in gunshot penetrations through the door. There were no injuries in the incident, which occurred at 6:40 am. Gunshot sent bullet fragments into the apartment, coming to rest on a steel closet door.
In a separate incident, York Security Services subsequently responded with Toronto Police Service to a noise complaint early Sunday morning on the same floor of 360 Assiniboine.
Toronto Police Service have been canvassing the apartment building and interviewing residents for any witness statements or knowledge of the Feb. 18 incident. York is supporting the investigation by providing access, CCTV coverage, and other information. Police have not named any suspects.
York has arranged for the presence of four Toronto Police officers commencing Sunday 19 February, as well as four additional York Security officials. They will be patrolling in the vicinity of the Assiniboine apartments until further notice.
