SECURITY BULLETIN: Off campus attempted robbery

TORONTO A York University student was assaulted off campus at 3:45 pm on Friday, April 29, 2011, during an attempted robbery.

The assault occurred at Sentinel and Murray Ross south of the York University campus.

While walking southbound on Sentinel Road, the student was approached by four suspects demanding his money. The suspects grabbed the student in an attempt to take his money. The student pushed back and defended himself from several hits to the face. Nothing was taken.

The victim only sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Toronto Police Services is investigating with the assistance of York Security Services.

A description of one of the suspects is as follows:

Male, 5 9", Latino, thin build.
