TORONTO, September 23, 2010 − The top five candidates for mayor of the city of Toronto – George Smitherman, Rob Ford, Sarah Thomson, Joe Pantalone and Rocco Rossi – debated head-to-head on issues of finance and transportation at York University on Wednesday evening.

The debate, Finance, Transportation, and Managing the City, was the second in the three-part series Toronto Debates 2010. Mayoral candidates addressed the question: Facing a budget deficit, what will our city’s next mayor do to improve the municipal services that matter most to Torontonians?
The Toronto Debates 2010 series is presented by the Toronto Community Foundation, the United Way Toronto, the Toronto Board of Trade and the Toronto City Summit Alliance. It is sponsored by the Toronto Star, 680News and Rogers TV. Election day is Mon. Oct. 25.
