York U students to be inducted into new chapter of Golden Key Society

TORONTO, March 24, 2010 -- More than 800 York University students will be inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society, at the York chapter’s inaugural ceremony on Friday, March 26 at 7pm.

 

The York University chapter is the newest in Canada, and will be one of the largest nationally.  

 

The Golden Key International Honour Society recognizes and encourages superior scholarship in all undergraduate and graduate fields of study. Membership is by invitation only and is extended to academically superior students in second year and above, including graduate students.

 

Inductees will receive their membership cards at the ceremony, meet chapter executives, and learn more about Golden Key and the York University chapter.

The society offers its members more than $600,000 (USD) annually through scholarship and award programs. Members are connected to career opportunities and assistance through Golden Key's corporate partnerships and graduate programs. The society also provides campus and community service opportunities for personal growth and leadership development.

Golden Key’s membership numbers nearly 2 million, with more than 375 chapters at colleges and universities in eight countries: Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, The Bahamas and the United States.
