TORONTO, September 19, 2009 -- A sexual assault suspect has been apprehended by Toronto Police Service in connection with two separate incidents that took place on York’s Keele campus.
On Tuesday the 15th of September 2009 in the evening hours a 23 year-old female York University student was in the University's Scott Library. It is alleged that the accused followed her into a secluded aisle of books where he sexually assaulted her. The victim reported the matter to security and police.
On Friday the 18th of September 2009 University security were again called to the library by an anonymous caller alleging she had just been sexually assaulted. This caller left the library before being interviewed by police. Security located the suspect and police were called. After investigation the accused was charged in relation to the assault on the September 15th. The incident on September 18th is still under investigation.
Charged is Aaron ZUKEWICH, a 21 yr old student of the University. He is charged with one count of sexual assault. He is being held for a bail hearing at Old City Hall Court.
