TORONTO, November 11, 2007 -- The York Lions are ready to celebrate an outstanding start to the 2007-08 season.

The university's three Ontario University Athletics champions - the men's soccer team, the women's soccer team and the men's tennis team - will be honoured Friday (Nov. 16, 6pm) at halftime of the Lions women's basketball game against the Brock Badgers at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

York President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri, Vice President Students Rob Tiffin and Director, Sport & Recreation Patricia Murray are scheduled to be in attendance at the banner unveiling ceremony.

This weekend, the Lions finished second at the CIS women's soccer national championship and fourth and the men's soccer national championship. With three OUA titles, the Lions already have won their most provincial titles in a season since 1998-99.

With the Lions women's basketball team coming off its own OUA title and with three provincial championship teams on hand, Friday should be a night to remember at the Tait McKenzie Centre.
