Interest growing in future landing on Mars
TORONTO, July 20, 2004 – York University is a leader in Canadian space research with several scientists working on NASA’s planned mission to Mars in 2007. With the 35th anniversary of the Apollo landing on the Moon this month, more and more observers are talking optimistically about manned missions to the red planet using the Moon as a staging area.
York researcher Brendan Quine is available to comment on the challenge of manned and unmanned flights to Mars using the Moon as a staging area. He is involved in the development of a number of Canadian space projects aimed at exploring Mars and observing the Earth and other planetary systems.
