York U’s Law School to host forum on same-sex marriage

TORONTO, March 24, 2004 -- York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School is hosting a public forum "Same-Sex Marriage: Legal Consequences and Societal Options", Saturday, March 27, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The forum will begin with a panel discussion with speakers from Canada’s Department of Justice and law faculty from Osgoode followed by small group discussions. Output from these discussions will be compiled into a report to be presented to Justice Canada.

Forum speakers include:

Lisa Hitch, Lead Counsel, Family, Children and Youth, Justice Canada;

Allan Hutchinson, professor, Osgoode;

Susan Drummond, professor, Osgoode.

The forum will take place in the Moot Court of York’s Osgoode Hall Law School, located at 4700 Keele Street.
