TORONTO, February 24, 2004 -- Two of North America’s foremost constitutional law experts – one an American, the other a Canadian – will discuss recent developments in relation to same-sex marriage in both countries on Thursday, February 26.
Peter W. Hogg, former Dean of York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School and lead counsel for the Government of Canada in the Supreme Court Reference on same-sex marriage, and Richard D. Parker, Paul W. Williams Professor of Criminal Justice, Harvard Law School, and the author of "Here, the People Rule: A Constitutional Populist Manifesto," are the keynote speakers.
The event, presented by Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association and the Harvard Law School Association of Toronto, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a panel discussion from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. The event will be held at The University Club, located at 380 University Ave. in Toronto.
