TORONTO, November 10, 2003 -- Should Canada buy into the Bush Doctrine? Do we have a choice? These are questions that will be debated at a public forum sponsored by York University’s Centre for International and Security Studies (YCISS) on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Marriott Eaton Centre 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Guest speakers will include the Hon. Barbara McDougall, president and CEO of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs, and Prof. Daniel Drache of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies at York University. Also speaking are Stephen Clarkson, professor of political science at the University of Toronto, and Dr. Paul Mitchell, Associate Director of Academics at the Canadian Forces College.

The evening’s discussion is one in a series of events on Contemporary Dilemmas in Canadian Security. YCISS is a Research Centre at York University and a Department of National Defence Security and Defence Forum Centre of Excellence taking an expansive view of the nature of security in the contemporary world.

The Marriott Centre is located at 525 Bay St. in Toronto. The forum will be held on the second floor in the King Room.
