TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2003 – Tomorrow’s debate of candidates for mayor at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University will be broadcast live on the Internet. The five contenders - Barbara Hall (Osgoode '78), Tom Jakobek, David Miller, John Nunziata (Osgoode '80), and John Tory (Osgoode '78) - will meet in Moot Court from 12:40 to 2:15 p.m. to answer questions from a capacity crowd of Osgoode and York students. Top issues are expected to be the extension of the subway to the York campus and a host of social and legal issues of interest to York students, faculty and staff.
The streaming broadcast will be produced by York University's Instructional Technology Centre and will be available at http://www.yorku.ca/special/mayoral_debate.
Media audio feeds will be available in the Moot Court, Room 101, Osgoode Hall Law School, 4700 Keele St.
The debate, which is being organized by the Law School with the assistance of the Osgoode Student Caucus, will be moderated by Patrick J. Monahan, Dean of Osgoode Hall Law School.
