L. Yves Fortier, C.C., Q.C., former Canadian Ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, to speak on ‘The Events of September 11th: Implications for Canada’ at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University

The Trustees of the Pierre Genest Memorial Fund present:
L. Yves Fortier, C.C., Q.C., Chairman, Ogilvy Renault, Montréal.

Mr. L. Yves Fortier is a Senior Partner in the law firm of Ogilvy Renault in Montréal, and has been its Chairman since January 1992. On leave from his law firm, Mr. Fortier served as Canada’s Ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in New York from July 1988 to January 1992. In September 1990, he was elected Vice-President of the 45th General Assembly. From January 1989 to December 1990, Mr. Fortier served as Canada’s representative to the Security Council of the United Nations. In 1989, he served as President of the Council.

WHAT:
The fourth Pierre Genest Memorial Lecture, honouring the memory of an outstanding Canadian lawyer who graduated from Osgoode in 1954 and died in 1989, will feature an address by L. Yves Fortier, C.C., Q.C. on The Events of September 11th: Implications for Canada.
