TORONTO, June 14, 2001 -- Madame Claire L’Heureux-Dubé, a Supreme Court of Canada Justice who has provided an expertise in family law matters seldom evidenced in Canada’s highest court and Jack Cockwell, president and Chief Executive Officer of Brascan Corporation, considered one of Canada’s most highly regarded and respected business leaders, will receive honorary degrees from York University tomorrow, Friday, June 15.
Cockwell will receive his honorary Doctor of Laws degree (LLD) and will address convocation (Schulich School of Business ceremony) at 10 a.m.
L’Heureux-Dubé will receive her honorary Doctor of Laws degree (LLD) and will address convocation (Osgoode Hall Law School ceremony) at 2:30 p.m.
Media welcome to attend. Both convocation ceremonies will be held on York's Keele Campus, in the Convocation tent, located east of the Centre for Film and Theatre, 4700 Keele Street.
