TORONTO, ON – Wednesday, September 10, 2014A new global survey by eFinancialCareers.com has ranked the MBA program at York University’s Schulich School of Business among the top 30 in the world for landing a career in investment banking.

In the ranking of the world’s best business schools for “breaking into investment banking”, Schulich placed 30th overall. New York-based Columbia Business School ranked 1st overall, with Wharton placing second and Yale third. Other top-rated business schools that were also ranked include Harvard, which placed 5th overall, and Kellogg, Schulich’s Executive MBA partner school, which placed 13th.

Schulich was the only Canadian business school to make the ranking. According to the ranking results, nearly 50 percent of Schulich MBA graduates within the eFinancialCareers database are employed at “Tier One” investment banks, a select group that includes Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley.

In conducting the ranking, eFinancialCareers.com analyzed data contained within 1.2 million professional résumés in its global database. The ranking looked at the number of MBA graduates around the world who have gone on to work in a “front office” investment banking role following graduation, as well as the percentage of graduates working in Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three banks globally.
