York U expert available to comment on Auditor General’s report on smart meters

TORONTO, Dec. 12, 2014 – The Ontario Auditor General's report is drawing attention to the smart meter program, particularly the installation of smart meters and time-of-use energy pricing. Professor Mark Winfield who has been participating in a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funded research project involving academic partners in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and the United States, around smart meters and smart grids, is available to comment on the report and its findings. Winfield is also the co-author of a working paper  on the state of smart meter and smart grid policy and practice in Ontario.
