York U experts available to speak about Rosetta spacecraft deploying lander to comet

TORONTO, November 11, 2014 – On Nov. 12, 2014, the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft will deploy a lander to the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko – the first ever attempt to soft-land on a comet.

York U Dean of Science and professor of physics and astronomy Ray Jayawardhana and senior lecturer of physics and astronomy Paul Delaney are available to speak to media about possible landing scenarios for Rosetta, the significance of this operation, and what type of data will be gathered by researchers.
