TORONTO, November 23, 2012 – York University joins United Way York Region in presenting a research forum, ‘Re-Imagining Our Response to Youth Homelessness: A Canadian and Global Perspective,’ on Nov. 26.

The forum will explore some of the underlying principles and practices that Canada applies when approaching youth homelessness in comparison to elsewhere in the world. The forum will also examine the innovative strategies in Canada to understand how we might change our response to youth homelessness from one that focuses on emergency supports and law enforcement to one that emphasizes prevention and rapid rehousing.

York University’s Knowledge Mobilization Unit, through a one year Public Outreach Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), has organized this event in partnership with United Way York Region.
